Casio introduces UAE-inspired limited-edition G-SHOCK watch

Casio Middle East announced today the introduction of the Kris Fade UAE-inspired limited-edition G-SHOCK watch. The watch which was designed by popular Virgin Radio Dubai DJ, Kris Fade, is based on the G-SHOCK GD-100-1A series of watches and the design is inspired by the UAE colors portraying icons from the country including the iconic Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab.

“I’ve always wanted to design my own watch one day and G-Shock turned my dream into a reality in no time. The Kris Fade G-Shock watch is strong, tough and is inspired by the UAE,” reveals Kris.

Being a radio DJ by profession, it was no surprise that Kris also decided to involve his Virgin Radio Dubai listeners and followers when designing the watch; incorporating their ideas to the design. “A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped me with the design of the watch and I hope you enjoy our finished product,” adds Kris.

The G-SHOCK GD-100-1A boasts a comprehensive range of functions including a world time function showing the time in 48 cities around the world, five alarms, a stopwatch, and a countdown timer. There is also a flash alert function that blinks the backlight with the sound of the alarm or the time-up sound of the timer, and an auto-light function which automatically illuminates the display when the user tilts the watch toward the eyes to check the time.

The body of the watch has a round shape with large, easy-to-use buttons. The face design features five round LCD windows of different sizes all arranged in a row, which give the face a three-dimensional appearance when the high brightness LED lights up.

Casio developed the G-SHOCK brand of watches in 1983 to realize the new concept of a tough watch that would not break even if dropped. Since that time, the brand has continued to evolve, with advanced functions, construction and design all based on shock resistance. The new ‘Kris Fade’ UAE-inspired limited edition watch is priced at AED 495 and is now available at G-Factory store in Al Ghurair Centre (04 2525217), G-Factory store in Lamcy Plaza (04 3352979) and Virgin Megastores across the U.A.E.
